Brief
Create a digital product based on the UN's Global Goal 12.8, which focuses on increasing awareness of sustainable lifestyles and consumption. The target audience is individuals aged 20–35.
Solution
I’ve developed an app that raises awareness of food consumption’s climate impact in an easy and motivating way. By simply taking a photo of your meal, you get immediate feedback on its carbon footprint via AI. The app encourages sustainable choices and allows you to track your progress over time.

Research
In my research, I found that a third of household carbon emissions come from the food we consume. I also discovered that many young people are worried about the climate crisis and feel a sense of hopelessness about the future. To address this, I wanted to create a product that makes the climate footprint visible in a simple, motivating and guilt-free way.
Reflection
Working with statistics and climate data was both a challenge and one of the most fun parts in this project. I wanted to avoid overwhelming users with too much text and instead let the data speak for itself.
By translating complex information—like the carbon footprint of food—into clear, visual feedback, I learned how powerful data can be when it’s presented in a simple and engaging way. Striking the right balance between accuracy and accessibility was not easy, but it taught me a lot about how to inform and motivate users through design.
